Barbara O'Hearne, Vice President

An entrepreneur and experienced consultant for more than 30 years, Barbara has dedicated her professional career to helping non-profit clients manage their programs and operational planning. An expert in leadership development, board governance, organizational development and planning, Barbara has worked with hundreds of faith-based organizations, associations and membership organizations throughout the United States, Canada and the Caribbean.
A motivator and change agent, Barbara has challenged Boards and executive staff to reach goals and fund the programs necessary to meet their organizational missions. She excels at developing and facilitating results-oriented planning sessions and innovative capacity building procedures.
A former professor of education and psychology at Avila University and a lecturer in sociology at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, Barbara received the Avila Medal of Honor for distinguished service. Prior to joining Jeffrey Byrne & Associates, Barbara served as a national consultant for the Association of Unity Churches International. She designed and facilitated a leadership institute for ministers to increase their capacity to create effective boards and administrative structures.
An author and popular workshop lecturer, Barbara is well-known for her creative approach to strategic planning, organizational change and board assessment designed to increase capacity and achieve vision, mission and goals.
Barbara is an active volunteer leader in the Kansas City community, service as an officer, founder, and/or board member of numerous organizations and civic commissions. Actively involved in Centurions, Barbara was one of 100 women selected to participate in the national Leadership America.
