From concept through planning, developing and fundraising to the reality of bricks and mortar, Jean’s hands-on, direct style of coaching CEOs and Development Directors provides insights to the specific nuances of the industry.
A specialist in senior living facility construction management, financial feasibility, bond financing and all facets of operational management including facilities assessments, Jean has served as a consultant for the bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of West Missouri where she led the establishment of Bishop Spencer Place, a mid size continuing care retirement community {CCRC} in the urban area of Kansas City, Missouri. Later she became its founding Chief Executive Officer. Prior to that, Jean led the Mid America Regional Council Area Agency on Aging as well as founded a geriatric case management agency.
During her tenure at Bishop Spencer Place, Jean specialized in coordinating strategic business partnerships among the retirement center, a major hospital consortium and ancillary services. Bishop Spencer Place continues to serve as the skilled nursing unit for the hospital.
Jean has been active in several national roles, and served as an experienced trainer for AAHSA, the senior living industry trade association. Currently residing in Richmond, Virginia, Jean is a Senior Living Advisor and education consultant.
