Norman Fishman
Norman
Fishman has more than 30 years of extensive
fundraising and senior management experience
in the nonprofit sector. His work with community-wide
organizations, hospitals and institutions
of higher learning gives him a wide perspective
on the dynamic development world.
Prior to joining Jeffrey Byrne & Associates,
Inc., as Executive Vice President, Norman
served as Vice President and Chief Development
officer of the University of Judaism in
Los Angeles. He was the Senior VP for the
City of Hope National Medical Center, with
specific responsibilities for major, planned
and capital giving. Norman worked with the
Los Angeles and Minneapolis Jewish Federations.
As the Campaign Director he oversaw the
annual efforts with primary responsibilities
for advance gifts. He has directed the capital
campaigns for a new hospital facility at
the City of Hope, a seniors' community campus
in Minneapolis and a Jewish Community Center
in Los Angeles.
The strength of the partnerships formed
with skilled professionals, and influential
and informed volunteers is the foundation
upon which every community endeavor succeeds.
This primary philosophy has allowed Norman
to play a significant roll in campaigns
that have raised $1 billion over three decades.
Norman has received an Honorary Doctorate
from Hebrew Union College in 2002. He attended
the University of Minnesota, HUC in Los
Angeles and the Fundraising School in Indianapolis.
He has been married to Barbara for 33 years.
Their son Ari lives in New York.
