GivingUSA in Kansas City July 18
On June 25 , the Giving USA Foundation™ will issue its annual Giving USA Report, which analyzes charitable giving in the United States in 2006. This report, which is produced in conjunction with the Giving Institute: Leading Consultants to Nonprofits (formerly the American Association of Fundraising Counsel) and is researched and written by the Center for Philanthropy at Indiana University, is America’s most comprehensive and in-depth look at philanthropy.
Just three weeks after the report is released, Jeffrey Byrne & Associates, Inc., will again partner with the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation to bring the Giving USA Report to Kansas City.
Plan to join us in Kansas City on Wednesday, July 18, to attend this free event and to gain an in-depth look at charitable giving last year, as well as a look at trends and lessons you can take back to your own organizations. Joining us that day will be Dr. Patrick M. Rooney, who is director of research for the Center on Philanthropy, and who guides the Giving USA Report. You’ll hear the latest numbers on 2006 giving in the United States by individuals, corporations and foundations, and will learn about the changes in giving patterns among various sectors, the importance of individual and planned giving, and the impact of major philanthropic events last year.
The event will be held from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at Kansas City’s Liberty Memorial and War Museum. The Liberty Memorial was designated in 2004 by President Bush as the country’s official World War I Memorial and has been designated by as a National Historic Landmark. It re-opened in December 2006 with a 26,000-suqare foot museum designed by internationally-acclaimed Ralph Appelbaum & Associates, following a $104 million capital effort.
