On
September 20, Jeffrey Byrne & Associates
and the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation
will present the findings of Giving
USA 2006 to Kansas City-area nonprofits
at a free program to be held that afternoon
from 2p.m. to 4:30p.m. at the Ewing Marion
Kauffman Foundation.
Giving USA 2006 will be presented
by Dr. Patrick M. Rooney, who is Director
of Research for the Center on Philanthropy
and guides the Giving USA report.
You’ll hear the latest numbers on
2005 giving in the United States by individuals,
corporations and foundations and will learn
the changes in giving patterns among various
sectors, the importance of individual and
planned giving, and the impact of crisis
giving to hurricane relief.
Last year, more than 200 nonprofit executives,
development directors, and volunteers joined
us to learn what the numbers from Giving
USA 2005 meant for giving in the United
States in 2004. This year, we have expanded
the program to include a look at Giving
USA in relation to other empirical
studies by Center on Philanthropy that examine
household and lifecycle giving. In addition,
we’ll provide an overlay of what you
are reporting on your DonorEdge® data,
and offer you the opportunity to ask questions
about what the numbers mean for your development
efforts.
